PARKER
Parker is a seventh-grade student at the Telluride Mountain School. This year, Parker and his fellow classmates went on a fascinating school trip to the Deep South. This experience impacted Parker on many different levels, especially his time at the Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice. Parker was shocked at all of the different horrifying lynchings that happened in over half of states. This experience showed him that this happened in a lot of locations where he did not think lynchings would have occurred, and taught him to value the study of history more so that we would not repeat our mistakes.
