ROSES OF RESEMBLANCE
By Mollie
This photo was shot around 3:30 p.m. at The Martin Luther King, Jr. “I Have a Dream” World Peace Garden in Atlanta, Georgia. The rose garden represents MLK’s life and the impact he had on Civil Rights. The tinted pink roses symbolize Ms. King’s selflessness and dedication to MLK’s work. The roses on the border represent Gandhi and King’s bond and similar ways of protesting. The red roses exemplify the African Americans who contributed to the World’s expansive History. The other roses symbolize the diverse religions and nations that inspired MLK to protest through non-violence.
I took this photo focusing on one set of roses, so the viewer could see the intricacy of the flower. I edited the pink roses and made them brighter by increasing the vibrance. The roses in the back are not in focus and I cropped a little off the top of the photo. The light was hitting the pink roses, therefore it made it easier to have a good focus on them. This photo was shot with no adjustments of the roses. I like this photo because it is less chaotic than the whole garden of roses.
